Jessica and Jerri the owners of J and J Processing have been Best Friends for many years. Having met in the mortgage industry they have always shared the same vision of a full service Processing Company (to include but not limited to: Processing, Underwriting, Document Drawing, funding, Compliance and Auditing) for Brokers and Bankers. J and J looks forward to utilizing all of their experience and expertise to make financing as smooth as possible for all parties involved. One of their abilities is to apply their joint experience to every transaction in order to make the lending industry a better place. J and J is a company that trains up processors, underwriters, and loan officers to be a blessing to borrowers, lender and investors. Our company’s motto is we are here to partner with you, and work together to achieve the goals set before us. Our staff will embrace and rise up to the ever changing market and challenges vs. fighting change and avoiding challenges. We believe everyone’s time is better spent being proactive instead of reactive. Jessica Burton is the broker and Co-owner of Nevada County Processing Services Inc., dba J and J Processing. She was Born and raised in Nevada County and is now a Mother of 4 wonderful Children, 3 daughters and 1 son. Jessica is married to Chris Burton the best breakfast cook at a local restaurant. At age 15 Jessica started her customer service career working in all aspects of the food service industry. In 1998 at age 23 (before she even had a credit score) Jessica started a new career, answering phones and ordering verifications for a Local Mortgage Broker. From the moment she began in the industry she was a great fit. Growing quickly she began processing only months after starting. It was at this company that Jessica and Jerri first met. Quickly, Jessica had recognizable skills as a processor who could specialize in processing for the originators that were located offsite. Due to her successful multitasking, communication skills and prioritizing skills, each off site agent had the confidence and security knowing the file was moving forward and the tasks were being completed with the upmost professionalism. In 2006, Jessica became a contract loan processor using the skills obtained to start out on her ultimate goal of a Processing and Processing Training company. In 2010 the Industry made several changes was not only requiring contract processors to be NMLS endorsed, but also required a Mortgage Brokers license and a BRE Licensed company to be NLMS endorsed. Jessica had to make a decision, to obtain her Brokers license, establish a corporation, get the corporation BRE licensed, and get it all NMLS Endorsed in less than a year’s time OR will she give up her dream of a processing company and get a job with an already established company for a salary position? Just as she takes on any challenge she believes in, Jessica forged ahead and pioneered on new ground doing what was needed to achieve her goals. She did all this while being a wife and mother of 4 beautiful and understanding children, and still processing loans to keep food on the table. Due to the licensing requirements many of the contract processors that once were, are no more, leaving many brokers in need of contract processing. It did not take long for the overwhelming need from Brokers for contract processing to reach Jessica. It was at this time that Jessica and Jerri’s vision for this company came into being.
Jerri Herrera is the Co-owner of Nevada County Processing Services Inc., dba J and J Processing. Jerri is a native born Californian. Her father was an enlisted man in the U.S. Air Force so she moved from base to base when she was growing up. She lived in many different places including Spain, Germany, and Virginia. When her father retired from the U.S. Air Force she was in the third grade and her family settled in Ventura California. Ventura is where she met her husband and where they started their family and her career. They relocated to Nevada County in 1995 for her husband’s employment.
Jerri has been in the Mortgage Industry since 1985, and she has assisted many top producers in the Mortgage Banking/Broker Industry. She has worked in every aspect of the Lending Industry including Servicing, Documents Drawing, Funding, Shipping, Secondary Marketing, Underwriting and Originating, all of which has helped her to achieve the reputation of being one of the best in the industry.
Jerri believes that confidentially, common courtesy and customer service are of the utmost importance and that every customer is entitled to each through personal expert assistance with their Mortgage Loan.

Emily Bearden
Emily duties include but are not limited to Administration & Invoices, Escrow Coordination & Appraisal Orders and Status, Credit Supplements (with permission only) & Closed Files.
Emily has been working since the young age of 13 knowing right away the importance of having a good work ethic and a strong respect for your employer. In the early years of her high school career Emily was one of the top players on the girls basketball team. She learned quickly the importance of being a team player. Emily only slowed down her basketball career to become more involved in her local church as an intern of the youth program. Emily graduated High school as one of the highest in her class all while working multiple jobs and successfully completing her internship as a youth leader and is now the Youth Pastor. Emily’s passion is to see the youth of her generation rise up to be the leaders of the next.
Jessica and Jerri have personally known Emily for multiple years having met her as a child. They have personally seen her mature into an admirable adult, showing wisdom beyond her years in all circumstances. Emily currently has been an employee with J and J since February of 2012, showing exemplary skills in all aspects of her job duties. Utilizing her knowledge obtained while studying Business Administrations as Sierra College, she has quickly created and established policies and procedures to ensure the office is running like a well-oiled machine, and that your appraisals are always being ordered following any and all compliance regulations. She can quickly jump in where needed to assist, and she will always accept the challenge at hand. Emily contributes a patience and understanding that becomes contagious to all that she works with on each transaction. She is an asset to the company and the company’s future.
